Millions of gay people around the world are also deeply religious. In some of the major religions, lay organizations have grown to help serve LGBT parishioners who might struggle to reconcile their identities with the teachings of their faith traditions. Here is a list of some of those groups based in the United States.

The Trump administration provided safe haven for anti-LGBT groups and individuals throughout the year, with a particular onslaught on transgender people in Anti-LGBT evangelical groups continue to enjoy unprecedented access to the White House and are intimately involved in forging public policy. The Q Christian Fellowship or QCF is an ecumenical Christian ministry focused on serving lesbianbisexualgaytransgenderqueerand straight ally Christian persons. It was re-branded in to better reflect the diversity of the ministry and community they serve. GCN was founded in as an online community to provide support to gay Christians. Founder Justin Lee had struggled for years to reconcile his own Christian faith with his sexuality, so he set up GCN as a way to support others in similar situations.
