The Athens County Amateur Radio Association usually conducts an annual class to prepare for the entry-level Technician license starting around January each year if there is enough interest. Notice of the class will appear here and on the home page. We will finish the class by conducting our own test session.

The event is open for the public to come and watch the radio operators using emergency power systems and portable radio equipment. Information about the field day can be heard on the Athens County low power AM radio system which will also be operating at the event. The low power AM radio is capable of transmitting messages to a 3 — 5 mile radius of the event.
