How is Morrowind looking after all these years? Not that great, what with the devastating volcanic activity and all. Most people would agree that the seventh gen started when the Xbox launched but that answers a different and thoroughly less interesting question.
Which is lovely: it shows its age in many, many painful ways, but its imagination, ambition and wonderfully weird visual design to this day makes Oblivion and Skyrim seem so terribly ordinary. But, thanks to 17 years of mods, it now only takes a couple of installations and a tiny amount of work to make it stunning in the ways that most count. All I want to do is give you some quick pointers on how to clear away the debris of technical limitations so it looks acceptable, even beautiful, on your monitor.
Hackers put nvde lady in Daggerfall? It's not a hacker's doing. In many taverns you'll find them.

Graphics for this game reviewed for the Xbox videogame system are pretty good for the time, though they ARE a lot better on PC. Huge cities with different denizens, of all races and appearances. Cultural diversity can actually be seen as you travel through the world.

M'Aiq has many topics of conversations to chose from, although some become available only once certain quests are active. One of the topics he speaks about is the sunken Shrine of Boethiah. Many of M'Aiq's statements refer to in-game subjects that are somewhat mysterious, such as the Dwemer and the Emperor Crabs, he also talks about game features that have changed, or been implemented, or even been discarded during development since the previous game.
The gameplay video, below, shows off how the modders have recreated Morrowind in the Skyrim engine. We see the player pick up a bounty in town, head off out into the wild and into a dungeon to kill the target before returning for a reward. This is classic The Elder Scrolls stuff and on the face of it not particularly groundbreaking, but there's a level of polish here we don't often see from mods. The music, voice acting and town AI is all present and correct, and we even get to see some spear combat.
