Cruise ship sun decks offer all the convenience of loungers, hot tubs and beverage service -- and all the headaches of screaming children, rock concerts on poolside screens and live bands playing "Hot Hot Hot" for the 20th time. Adults-only sun decks offer all the former in a much more serene environment. We have nothing against kids, but even on the most family-friendly cruise ships, an area explicitly excluding children gives parents a valuable hour or two of "me time," while maintaining the sanity of fellow cruisers who came on vacation for peace, quiet and minimal crying.
Cruise ship sun decks are much more than a simple place to swim and sunbathe. Modern top-of-the-ship activity centers can feature multiple pools and hot tubs, water parks with slides and splash zones, outdoor movie screens, active pursuits ropes courses, ziplines, rock climbing walls and surf simulators and serene, adults-only lounge spaces. And you're never far from a place to grab a drink or bite to eat. If outdoor relaxation and entertainment are priorities when choosing a cruise, check out our favorite cruise ship pool decks.
If you truly want a kids-free cruise, you might want to consider cruising on an adult-only cruise ship. Since most ships do allow children, your best bets for avoiding them, should you so choose, are adult-only areas. Some ships even have adults-only restaurants.

Hello, we are travelling on Carnival Spirit in March We have booked an extended balcony cabin and was told by the booking agent that the cabin was also bigger not just the balcony. Upon reading some more info online I have discovered that the cabins inside are the same as a normal balcony room.
